If shipowners already must implement for their fleet an effective cyber risk management since 1^st Jan 2021 to comply with IMO regulations, two Unified Requirements from IACS (UR E26 for cyber resilience of New Constructions and UR E27 for cyber resilience of CBS systems and equipment) will enter into force on Jan 1^st 2024 and will represent a game changer for all shipyards and suppliers, as vessels in the future will have to be “cyber secure by design”.
